There is no lack of obsession of all the characters for weapons, which is contrasted only by Anu who seems the only one to wonder why everyone is always so violent and fixed with guns. There is no lack of the most extreme and sometimes gratuitous violence. The New Tales from the Borderlands adventure has all the features one would expect from a Borderlands game. Anu works for Atlas and must escape from the space station to go down to the planet and save her brother, who in the meantime has become one of Tediore’s primary targets, also involving Fran for whom she works. It all begins when Tediore – one of the many multinationals of Promethea, the planet where the events of the game take place – decides to exacerbate his attempted hostile takeover of Atlas, the company of Rhys, protagonist of Tales from the Borderlands. The three are ordinary people, but in the world of Borderlands, destiny is immediately ready to put a hand in them. The additional detail of skin textures and and different surfaces that has been added on in the more recent games can seem to clash with the simplistic nature of its style at times for me, but to each their own I suppose.
The living comic-book aesthetic with thick black outlines and bold colors still looms large over the experience as it has done for its decade plus of games.
